Further to the thread about Nurses acting as First Aiders I started to wonder if anything happened to me who would I like to have saved me.....?
I know who I wouldn't want... St. Peter!

If I fell overboard from my boat - I'd like to think I'd be saved by Mae West... Not many younger readers will get this, but it makes a lot of sense!

for me it would have to be someone suitably qualified in rescue techniques in the field of predicament I found myself in...
...or Pamela Anderson!

i think it would have to be the ladies that work in the flat above my bank, they seem to wear nurse/hca outfits but dont know what qualifications they might have.

Jo Brand - as long as she had qualified as a vet of course!

I don't want to be too demanding or greedy, so any Olympic women's volleyball team (or teams) would do.
I first thought the question asked who would like to be 'shaved' by? For the record, the answer is the same :-)

I definitely feel some moderation coming on! :-) Nothing to do with Private Ryan then? Think about it!

Firstly a serious answer to what might be a frivolous thread title question: I don't really care who does it as long as they're competent to do whatever needs doing to keep me alive. If mouth to mouth resuscitation were needed, it wouldn't matter if the resuscitator had rampant halitosis provided that they could successfully revive me. On this note, I'll echo yet again one of my pet themes on this forum, namely for first aid training to be provided to all secondary and older primary school pupils in the UK, suitably tailored of course to their age and comprehension.
canopener mentioned comedienne Jo Brand at #13: Though she might have few or no veterinary skills, she did work as a mental health nurse when younger. If she also has appropriate life saving skills and has to use them to save someone, she could subsequently use her wit and humour to cheer them up.
As for my frivolous answer, I'd choose to be saved by the damsels from the castle in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Those familiar with the film will recall that the knight played by Michael Palin allowed himself, most reluctantly, to be rescued from the damsels by the other knights! :-)
