Hi Guys Has anyone developed a Health and Safety course specifically for journalists? If you have, what was your approach? I was thinking on the lines of training them on hazard identification & risk assessment and incorporating lone working. Any ideas welcome! kofi

Can I suggest the following link which will give you a broadside on international incident occurring to Journalists: http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/journalist-safety I would then recommend you look at the OSCE Safety of Journalists Guidebook www.osce.org/fom/85777 Then the BBC Journalism Safety Guide http://downloads.bbc.co....de_second_edition-v1.pdf My question would be based around who you are delivering this course to? If it is journalists going out into the field, and you have no direct field experience, then I would suggest that you source a person who has. There are a number of providers for this. I have contact with a couple I have worked within the past – ex-forces who specialize in this sort of thing – who are also part of the Royal Geographical Society network. Drop me an email if you want more info. I am a geographer whose experience is dealing with big dangerous animals and rocks, not pointy things that make loud banging noises.
