Does anyone have any useful web links/information relating to general H&S regs in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman and Saudi Arabia i.e. not specifically related to the construction industry.

I worked and lived there for quite a few years, there are some but probably not enforceable, you know what I am on about if you have worked there (Saudi Arabia). What is the industry? Ours was exploration and production where the industry has the Oil and Gas Producers (OPG). Though Saudi Aramco has a vast library of standards and procedures. Large organizations have their own which are usually adequate but needs policing all the time. Some of the better companies even use BS. StuartR

Margaret...is there any reason why you have not listed Qatar. After being here 6 months, i have extensive knowledge of Qatar H&S requirements. The Qataris have developed & implemented a "Regulation" called Qatar Construction Specificiations (QCS 2010) which is pretty much all of the UK construction H&S Regs rolled into one... including CDM which is proving to be a major shock to the system of some contractors out here. From my point of view it is a substantail step in the right direction and if it gets established and enforced correctly, will provide Qatar with a sustainable and robust H&S Management standard. If you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.

You could look up the Saudi Labor & Workman Law much of which is based on UK and other nation legislation.
