Hi I have been asked by our company director, who owns and rents about 6 properties, if I can produce a generic risk assessment for general maintenance.
This is a separate company consisting of 3 employees including the director, he however would likes to have everything documented (not a bad thing unless its up to you to create the paperwork)
The jobs in question range from replacing a floorboard to varnishing a window, can a generic document be produced for this? as I believe each job would need to be assessed individually.
If anybody has a sample or can point me in the direction of a generalised assessment I would be most grateful.

What I have seen in the past is a risk assessment for each task and then a specific checklist/form for a 'point of work' risk assessment that is used to make reference to the generics. This allows the perosn completing the job to evaluate the suitability of the generic risk assessment and account for any other hazards they may encounter.
I have even heard of companies having one for general joinery and claiming no significant risks are produced from what they do (hard one to protect against when something happens!) also heard of companies with less than 5 employees claiming the guys done them in their head as they wer competent and trained but not recorded as law does not require it (again something goes wrong no evidence!).
