Been asked in a meeting about completing the 'notification of work commencing'

Is this a CDM job, i haven't heard of this in the regs unless i have missed it. Can someone shed light on it, is it needed for all types of work or just specialised issues such as asbestos, demolition etc. And if it isn't the cdmc job to fill this in, who's is it

See paragraphs 15 to 19 of the ACOP that's a free download at http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/books/l144.htm

You'll want the ACOP anyway if you're getting into CDM.

we have a project were demoliton has ended, so the f10 orginally mentioned the building of the apartments but not the demolition, now the employers agent is asking for 'notification to commence' to be filed. Well is it going to be the same form as the orginal f10 as the orginal never mentioned demolition?

Emmett,
if this project was notifiable (and it certainly sounds like it), the CDMC should have included the demolition as part of the F10 notification. Demolition is included in the definiton of "Construction Work" in the CDM Regulations.

The CDMC should keep their fingers crossed that the HSE doesn't pay them a visit.

I think it best in these situations to ask for clarification from the person who asked you.

Unlees you are the CDMC pass the request to the CDMC as it his job to do the revisions.

If you did not undertake the demolition only the original F10 isw applicable to your work. Any problems from non notification of previous works is for the client, cdmc and PC to worry about NOT YOU
