Bob Totally agree the regulations after all basically codified what we should all be doing and much of it is already in other legislation. I do think the post contract reviews were a bit of icing that has no beneficial effect. I do like the fact that they force both clients and contractors to address the issue. The regulations are also useful as an extra pressure to get waste regularly removed from the work area and site, also to store materials properly. What I disliked was the fact that like much information the draft version was often ignored during tender and then the contractor produced his own generic version that left out all the information in the draft. On a couple of occassions asbestos was ultimately ommitted in spite of the survey reports, specific instructions and site rules. The contractors then attempted a claim for the additional asbestos works. Guess who lost money? They are badly constructed and worded however and the use of the term Principal Contractor was a very poor decision as it implies that only notifiable projects were covered. Bob

Bob Youel Thanks for the first part of your response. With regards to the second part I am fully aware of what the requirements are and yes we manage our waste very well so do sometimes feel that all we need to do is answer the question Regards PaulR

Ask a question and you cannot control the answers. Sometimes an indirect answer can help to create a fuller answer. Bob
