Hi
how long after an incident that is reportable but wasn't at the time deemed acceptable, could not see anything in the regs on a timescale.Example if six months has passed should it still get reported?

the HSE revise the figures after a year to allow for late reporting, but the law specifies when an accident should be reported under RIDDOR and I have not heard of any prosecutions for late reporting yet.

Don't know if this helps, but from the RIDDOR regs:
Guidance to Reg 3.
66 - Reports must be made of an over-seven-day injury within 15 days of the accident. However, where the incapacitation does not immediately follow the day of the accident, eg because the condition does not become apparent until some time after the accident, the report should be made as soon as the injury or condition has incapacitated the worker for more than seven consecutive days.
So, despite no timescale given in the regs, it's been left open ended. I agree with previous posters - report.

HSE may prosecute dependant upon the nature of the accident. An additional charge for late reporting may be included if a prosecution is deemed necessary for the accident itself. If failure to report an accident comes to light then again prosecution could be considered.
