Due to the power having been cut off to our drying-room between 2200 and 0600hrs we now have reduced drying potential for wet clothing. Does anyone have an alternative?
Requirements:
1. Produces heat.
2. does not operate on electricity
3. timer would be nice.

always warms my wellies warm and dry in the greenhouse

Funnel in all the hot air that's backed up while the forums have been offline. That should keep you going a year or two ;)
Sorry, Thursday night is my Friday night...

What about a storage heater, if you can still get them. Heated up until the power goes off and then latent heat from the thermal mass until the morning.

Thanks for the ideas. I think that a gas heater, correctly vented, is probably the best way to go. The problem with any solution found is that it would need to me on a timer so that it can turn on and off when the electricity goes off and on.

Why has the power been cut-off overnight? There should be an option to maintain certain dedicated supplies - why not that one?
