I'm looking for some advice or examples of how people proceeded in this scenario: My employer has a consulatant engineer coming to our premises to perform inspection work on the external walls of the building. Access to perform the inspection will be via a cherry picker. Under the definition of 'construction work' in the Irish Construction Regulations inspection or 'site survey' would not be considered as construction work. However if this work presents a particular risk i.e. working at height, would it come under the construction regulations and do we have to appoint a PSCS? Would love to hear people's experience of this situation?

The inspection will be a visual one. The cherry picker will be operated by others, I.e. someone with a ticket or appropriate training. The cherry picker operator is being supplied by the hire company. The whole inspection process will take one day with all size of the building, moving and relocating the
