I worked on a construction project once where a tower crane driver who was wearing rigger boots was climbing up the crane and when he stepped on to the top platform, his ankle snapped!

What's an EL?? And how on earth can wearing the boot cause the fracture? It could at best be a contributory factor due to lack of sufficient ankle support, thereby PREVENTING the injury which was caused by something else? I used to be in FRS and only thing we wore was safety wellingtons! Don't remember anyone breaking their leg.
