Am trying to clarify if one of my sites would be LA or HSE enforced? It's primarily a data centre with some warehouse storage/office areas. We have cooling systems, backup generators, UPS systems etc on site so risk rating is higher than an office. Minimal manning on site, 24/7 operation. Didn't seem clear in enforcing authority guidelines. Any advice appreciated Thanks Mark

Feeling in a devil’s advocate sort of mood-Does it make any difference? The law either one applies should be the same so just carry on doing what you are doing and if you need to report something under RIDDOR they always ask the question: what is your local authority, and then they (I guess) pass it on to the appropriate inspectorate (HSE or local)

Sounds LA to me but it shouldn't affect you who enforces anyway.

The reason I'm asking relates to the FFI policy & HSE and how I explain it to my board of directors. Does it apply or not, HSE enforced = yes, LA enforced = No. I felt it is LA, but not having had any involvement or visits due to the fact we haven't had any incidents or issues just wanted other's thoughts. Many thanks Mark

In the good old days, you would have had to know who yourlocal enforcing authority was so you could display the local contact details on your H&S Law poster!
