Good afternoon Sorry to use the forum in this way but I just had a discussion / arguement with a CDM coordinator relating to the number of days off for Riddor to be triggered. I am not in the office and haven't got my laptop on me to prove him wrong so thought it would be quicker to post this by phone. Riddor is more than 7 day injury (excluding the day of injury) - so, an injury was sustained Thursday, off from Friday and returns to work on the following Friday (7 days off in total, so returns on the 8th day). Reportable or not?
Thank you

Straight from the HSE website;
Over-seven-day injuries
As of 6 April 2012, the over-three-day reporting requirement for people injured at work changed to more than seven days.
Now you only have to report injuries that lead to an employee or self-employed person being away from work, or unable to perform their normal work duties, for more than seven consecutive days as the result of an occupational accident or injury (not counting the day of the accident but including weekends and rest days). The report must be made within 15 days of the accident.

Hi
Not reportable under RIDDOR, if he's only been off for 7 days. You still need to capture this in your accident book though.
