I'm looking to put together a legal and other register to give clearer representation of our health and safety requirements evaluation of compliance. I would be keen if others are willing to share examples of registers they feel works well as this would help ensure I've addressed effectively first time round. Thanks in advance

unsure what excactly you are after, as dont know what line of work you are in, when you say register what do you mean. These things would be covered within your company policy/ procedures section/manual. ??

I know what you are looking for. To satisfy requirements of ISO9000 for example? PM me your email address and I will send a copy of what I use.

Be very careful here as you are referring to two separate issues if you are looking at ISO/OHSAS management systems. 1) Identifying the legal and other requirements for the work 2) Procedure for evaluation of compliance Yes they are linked but the register(say) for point 1 does not in itself satisfy point 2 You cannot also be totally complete wrt other requirements as a client can at any time provide additional requirments that need also to be accommodated. One should also not forget that a new work area can lead to other statutory controls coming into effect for your work. Any register can thus only be as good as the time of its creation. I prefer electronic listing as it can be amended readily and as long as you set password controls on content and print settings you can ensure all printed copies have a clear warning of date and correctness printed on them. As to format there is little to choose as long as the requirement is identified together with which parts have an effect, which departments/locations are effected and who is in overall and immediate control of the compliance measures.
