One of our employees was complaining of pain in one of his knees, he visited a hospital and was told that he had Bakers Cyst, he is now on cruches and will be off of work for a while.
Being as this occured while our employee was at work, firstly, should it have been entered into an accident book and secondly, is it reportable under RIDDOR. I do have my own take on this, but would like some back up!

He may have become aware of it at work but that does not mean that it is work related. A stroke/heart attack can occur at work but not necessarily reportable.
Record, don't report, unless it is actually work related.

Well, he may have 'Baker's Cyst' and experienced the pain at work but key thing is: is it work-related?

You can't get a bakers cyst just by being at work,, not work related, very painful though!!!!!!!
