Hi
My manufacturing site are updating their induction pack for new starters. I wandered if anyone had any new materials or tips to add in as a modern slant? What should it ideally include anyway, or shouldnt? Would anyone know of a decent template to view for food for thought, much appreciated in anticipation.

I would think of what I would like to know on day one; where to eat, drink and go to the loo and what could cause me harm. Photos in Powerpoint supported by a site tour. You could even do a video

Those topics won't all be appropriate for everyone though, Terry, and different people will need to go into different depth with them depending on their job. There's also only so much anyone can take in on the first day so stick to the basics to begin with.

A safety induction should be short & sweet - Its about Message!
However a sefty orientation should be done over a period of time with adequate supervision to asist the employee to meet the standards required.
