Hi, Does anyone know why the emergency exit signs in Holland are different to those in other European countries? Google Images "Nooduitgang" to see what I mean. Regards Manny

Ze lijken nog steeds aan de eisen van de EU-richtlijn te voldoen voor mij

Ik zie niet het probleem ofwel, ik ga naar Holland elk jaar en heb niet gemerkt dat ze beduidend anders zijn I sense the mods, and others may tire of this!

Mark (aka Betta), good use of Google translator, well done (or did you pick up some Dutch whilst you were with the RAF?). I understand that each of the member countries have a bit off leeway when it comes to the design of their sign however most countries appear to have very similar signs (i.e. Germany & the UK). My German is far better than Dutch and yes that is as a result of 3 years of crimes against the Liver at Laarbruch and 3 separate years as a brat at Kent School, Hostert. Maybe it is just the general laid-back attitude that the Cloggies have. I have a lot of respect for the way that as a nation only football seems to get them wound up.

Manny, a return to sanity on this post! Emergency exit signs used in Holland are not normally different to anywhere else in EU. They normally use widely recognised pictogram's to indicate exit routes. For 5 years I audited a 6 acre manufacturing plant there so I know that to be the case. I googled as you suggested and got the anticipated pictogram's?

Hi Jonty, If you look at some of the images there are some strange pictograms of an open square with a directional arrow (unlike our green running man). The following link is a typical example (if it works): http://www.bhvstore.nl/p...ooduitgang-escalight-717 Kind Regards Manny
