I did mine on 9 Aug and got the good news on 16th... I know it is difficult, but hang in there.

In reference to the panel and feedback; I, like you. felt the same, but being a scientist I have analysed this since then...

I think for want of a better word, the 'indifference' experienced is due to training; I remember discussing with Head HR one day about interviewing and they stated the best interviewers (from a Company perspective) are those that leave you with not knowing how you have performed one way or another, thereby offering no false hopes to any attendee. So do not panic and do not read too much into the lack of panel feedback, in my experience they were being professional.

Having chaired many Peer Interviews I can confirm that Amanda is spot on! During our initial training we are advised not to give any feedback which might give a false sense of hope, even when we get really excellent answers & merely move on to the next question - it really is hard sometimes when you see the high standard of candidates!!

Perhaps you can change tide of indifference Ian - I hate it when people don't react when I talk to them, same reason I ask people to remove their dark glasses when I talk to them!

Could be anything for instance - how would you set up a SSOW? But dont worry to much the panel know you are nervous and will prompt if necessary. May also ask questions on your CV and past experiences on how you give advice

Hi I am just going through the process, firstly register your interest to sit on the peer review panel. You then get invited to sit on a panel but you do not have any input to the candidate but you can mark and this is shared between the panel just to gauge where you are compared to the other panelist .

The chair person will give you feedback and will recommend to IOSH to attend training which I'm happy to say am doing in November.

Why did I do it I felt I have a career thanks to members on here for jobs I was offered after my army career and I want to give something back to other safety professionals to want to achieve what I have and feel proud to get Chartered status.

I had my Peer interview on 6th September, received a letter saying that I would be recommended for CMIOSH roughly 3 weeks later. I spoke to the office about the timescale and was told that my submission would be formally considerred on 11th October. Two weeks or so later I noticed that my status had changed in my IOSH > My Dteails and received my Certificate a week or so later. That took roughly 7 weeks. Although the end result is what I'd hoped for, my only comment is that it would still have been nice to get feedback from the interview - especially as I have a job interview next week and could use any help that I can get!!!
Oh, the questions are disguised as / hidden in a Feedback form and can be found in MyIOSH via the My IPD> Peer Review interviews section. About 2/3rds of the way down you'll see a highlighted link to "Feedback Form" which opens the following link http://www.iosh2.co.uk/PRI_Form_2012.pdf I found this invaluable.
