Hi Everyone, Nowadays, people are using the word competence... competence... competence... in not even the real essence of the word. Sometimes, this has been abused by some when assessing one's competence for a job. Anyhow, I would like to solicit your valuable input on the right or acceptable competence for the following positions in Construction Industry [Infrastructure Project (sewer lines) and Building Project (medium-rise only)]: H&S Manager Environmental Manager H&S Officer Environmental Officer Thank you very much!

Ian I know this is not a direct answer to your question, but I would consider one of the most important attributes ensuring competency is to know the limits of your own expertise and when you need someone else with the appropriate specialist knowledge to be involved. As I frequently say: "The danger arises when you don't know that you don't know!" Chris
