I wonder if anyone can help or advise me on a course of action. I am health and safety manager at a student union of a university and as such deal with a very wide portfolio of activities. One area where I am regularly asked questions because we run a theatre and lots of events is around the question of electrical safety and temporary electrical installations. My knowledge is this area is somewhat limited and I am looking at how I can increase this. Does anyone have any recommendations of courses that I could take which do not require a high level of electrical knowledge already which would assist with what I am doing, and that I can persuade work to pay for!! thanks

I undertook an electrical principles and safety course run by Wakfield Skills Centre, then went onto undertake City & Guilds Electrical safety & inspection at my local college, maybe your establishment runs such a course?

Some companies run a basic electrical course for non technical people. Your best bet is to contact NICEIC or click the link below which may help you. http://niceic.com/traini...lectrical/safe-isolation Good Luck.
