With technology today, there's very little he couldn't do from home. Although there is no substitute for being in the office, not having this person in the office will massively relieve the pressure!!

I am pleased to see that others have also managed to use their imagination to look at ways to see if people can work or be returned to work quicker than a Drs 'sick' (not fit) note might otherwise indicate. This can be to the advantage of the employee as well as the employer, especially where contractual sick pay is not paid. I have been doing this prior to the revision of the Med 3, as it has always seemed/seems to me to be such an 'obvious' thing to do.

Of course it depends on a number of factors, such as:
Type of injury/illness
Type of work
Distance from work (and accessibility of transport)
etc

With a little imagination creativity many people can be at work or brought back to work sooner than they otherwise might have been.
