Extinguisher training using realistic carbonaceous fires

I am looking to provide some fire extinguisher training to a significant group of staff with a specific 'staff search' roles during fire alarm actuations. I know there are 101 companies and venues offering such training using LPG powered fire simulators, but I would like to offer training with more realistic carbonaceous (smoky) fires. This would take the form of perhaps a timber/paper a crib or cage in the open air - with a weather cover shelter nearby, plus a classroom for a powerpoint presentation.
This would help inform these individuals re the amount of smoke produced from a small fire, and even more importantly, the rapid increase in smoke (&steam) when the extinguisher is applied. This sort of input is not possible if using the clean LPG rigs. I must stress that this is extinguisher training only at this stage and not fire behaviour training. Although if reasonably priced, a fire behaviour element of the training may be useful at some time in the future.
So does anyone know such a training company offering this type of training within a 60 to 90 minutes drive from central London?
Thanks

Have you tried contacting your local fire service as they might be able to point you in the right direction of reputable companies that would be able to offer this (as many of these organisations are run by ex-firefighters that have retired or decided to get away from the hands on day to day firefighting for family reasons etc). Fire training schools may also be able to help as I know Strathclyde up here in Scotland offer training onsite at their facility...though haven't personally attended one of their courses so not sure if they use wooden pallets or not tbh.

Unfortunately, my local fire service - the London Fire Brigade closed their commercial training unit when they privatised their entire training dept last year.
I am making enquiries to home county fire services to see if they offer (or could offer) this training, but quite often, their training centre is quite a distance from central London.

Hi Messy,
We look after the trauma training for Gatwick and Heathrow, and im sure they still have commercial departments. They both have excellent facilities and are very enthusiastic at what they do.

The is always the national fire training college at moreton in the marsh, maybe a bit far. Gatwick have taken a more commercial approach and now actively seek external use of their training ground. Also Manston, in kent, the old defence fire training ground is still available for use I believe. If you need details happy to help
