Hi - I am trying to get some advice regarding the purchase of a new loading shovel which will be used in a warehouse used to store bulk feed products. Areas in the shed have been zoned 21 and 22 under DSEAR. We need to purchase a new loading shovel, but there is nothing available on the market that is ATEX rated. Can we purchase a non-ATEX rated machine for this shed, and control the risks SFAIRP through Risk Assessment and application of the pronciples of prevention? Thanks in advance, Adam

You can...just need to carry out a risk assessment for using non-atex rated equipment in that area.
