Advice from the fire safety experts out there please! I'm CMIOSH, but I'm conscious that my fire safety knowledge could do with beefing-up. I could do the NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management, but I'm wondering if there are any good alternatives out there. I'm looking for a short course, either day-release or a short block. Preferably of equal or better standing and value than the NEBOSH course. I guess the most important thing is that the fire safety people regard the course as credible and worthwhile. Suggestions anyone?

Mick. I can recommend these: http://www.vulcanfiretra...re-training-courses.html No connection other than a customer. As it says on the web site the course is accredited by the Institute of Fire Safety Managers and gets you in as a technician level. The Fire Manager cert is the one to go for. Hope this helps Andy

Agree with Moterhead - Vulcan. I'm actually on the Advanced Fire Safety Managers on next month. This 'potentially' gets you full membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers on completion. Everyone I have spoken to who attended is rally happy with the training. Like Moterhead I too have no connection.

Hi Mick, Depending on what is driving your need to 'beef' up your fire knowledge, you may want to consider other alternatives such as the courses run by the FPA (no, not the family planning association!) or the FIA. Happy to discuss this further, especially if you can explain what you are looking for. Jez PS. I have no issues with Vulcan by the way and I'm a member of the IFSM
