Morning All Our company are about to lose a large number of employees. Due to the large number of items that shall be returned we are very keen to recycle the uniforms in the most ethical way. Has anyone had experience in dealing with large quantities whilst ensuring that company logos and uniforms do not end up in the wrong hands. Cheers Mike

Unless you ensure that all LOGO's are fully removed you are at potential risk and if your uniforms are 'special' e.g they can be very easily recognised such as the post office you may have to have them turned into rags to dispose of them I personally know of a company who let some logoed [is 'logoed' a word?] uniforms go but the action came back to bite them

I believe M&S will take them back in one of their stores, under the "Schwopping" campaign. They take care of the de-branding issues for you IIRC. Apparently they are also about to provide some form of workplace collection scheme as well, not only for workwear, but for staff to deposit unwanted items. May be an option to explore?

Depends on where you want them to end up. I've donated clothing and footwear to charities before, such as: http://www.mungos.org/co...d_footwear_i_wish_donate http://www.whitechapel.org.uk/donate-goods.php When was working with international field workers would look for set ups like KEEP in nepal to donate their kit to - http://keepnepal.org/ B

Without sounding daft, what's wrong with having them professionally laundered and re-issued? Save recycling!
