Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations

That took some time to write!
If you have an installation that has not been tested for over say twenty years, then this is the way to do it.
First get an electrical safety survey carried out. This will highlight the areas where any urgent work is needed. Work such as bonding, live cables hanging from walls etc all Code 1. If you have the funds get it over with and bite the bullet and order a full inspection and test. This will give you a safe base to work from. You will then have a sound platform to build a rolling program of inspections etc. To do this another way is folly. Some will say just put a rolling test from the start but whatever you do get a survey done first. Think about it, you get the first floor tested but the ground floor is a death trap. And please, when things are repaired or replaced make sure that you have the certificates for the work or you will not be able to prove that maintenance is carried out as per legislation.

None taken Tony. I was just that one of my other posts was pulled off before I could post this info. As ever, a bit rushed. It was to be a part of another post.
It is just to say that before committing to any testing of a large building that may need to be carried out in stages, first get the overall picture and then make a plan.
I was hoping that you or others would add something or put forward a better plan.
