Dear all

Was wondering if this would be of use to anyone... I have recently transferred a load of HSE guidance on to my Kindle using the free ebook converter - calibre-ebook.com/ I have found it very useful for searching and browsing Regulations etc.

I have emailed the HSE this morning asking if they plan on making Kindle or Ebook friendly guidance as a download soon. I know you can get PDF's for tablets but Kindle batteries last for a long time and I find easier for reading on.

Not sure if the HSE will take the idea up, but maybe something for IOSH to review as well, as a possible idea for the future.

Hi,
I have copied many PDF documents straight onto my Kindle without any converter. So far, the Kindle has been able to display them with no problems.

If you look in the settings on your Kindle, you will see you have been given a Kindle email address e.g. 'chris99@kindle-amazon.co.uk'

If you send a PDF, Word document and a few other formats to that address, it will become available on your Kindle.

As you can also get a free Kindle app for your phone or tablet, it's another way of having documents to hand wherever you are.... or something more interesting to read during meetings :-)

ive got docs on both kindle and tablet - downloaded onto both suddessfully from a well-know on-line subscription service.
its sad but gives me something to read on the train plus handy for examiners meetings
