I am loking at loading/access gantries for my company so we can access the top of the steel containers (20ft/40ft). The cost of them is considerable and we currently access the top by FLT and cage. It has been suggested by an employee about having a fixed location which is fitted with scaffold (permanately) and checked a minimum of every 7 days. Has anyone come across this or used this type of system as an alternative to fixed steel gantries. Thanks

An alternative is a portable gantry. We use one for accessing the tops of tankers. The basic design is a ladder on wheels with a cage at the top that you position over the tank. The cage has no base so you stand directly on the tank. I wouldn't see scaffolding as the right option for a permanent installation.
