Good Afternoon, I am looking into booking a scaffold Inspection course but require some clarification as it is a bit confusing With a two day course which scaffolds can I inspect ? Whats the difference between a (SITS) CISRS scaffold inspection course and the ones advertised by other training companies ? Many thanks

This much depends on what you are inspecting. If it's basic scaffolding, system scaffold (not requiring a design), towers and ladders then a one day course should suit the need, anything more than that could go to 2/3 days. The legal requirement is for competence to inspect a scaffolding to ensure that it is safe to use and properly constructed. You are not tied to using CISRS, etc, etc. The training provided must be suitable.

We currently adopt the CITB SITS Card, feed back from the candidates has been excellent and all attended the CITB centre in Leytonstone. With regards to what you can inspect, the 2 day SITS course is aimed at basic non designed scaffold, however it will also depend on the individuals competence. Regards PaulR

The SITS scaffold inspection course will allow you to apply for a CISRS card and have the qualification added to the back of the card to be recognized as scaffold inspector. I say 'recognized' lightly mind you, as it seems something that construction skills and the national scaffold confederation are pushing for and is something recognized by major contractors.
