Just for info - with various electrical appliances being recalled because they are faulty, is there a database to go to where all this info is accessible or is it a case of wait for the news to issue warnings or visit manufacturers websites. SBH

Unfortunately there isn't one single source... in addition to the recalluk site there is the following: http://www.esc.org.uk/pu...-advice/product-recalls/ Not sure that it is that manfacturers aren't doing enough - it may be that their messages, recall notices etc fail to motivate people to respond, to contact the manufuacturers etc. Phil

Most manufacturers, particularly of domestic appliances are very unlikely to know which consumers are affected anyway - it's the retailers that sell them. Clearly the manufacturers have an obligation to make the information available to retailers etc.
