(Or should that be plummeting?) Rather disappointing to find the typical misinformation we constantly rant about on this Forum actually appear on the IOSH "News" pages..... http://www.iosh.co.uk/ne...?i=N0249021364982042034A

Well I've now "spammed" the media team, do you know there are 5 of them! They were the only "real names" I could find on the whole of IOSH website

This item was in "Industry News" and there is a line on its webpage that states "Browse the latest health and safety industry news delivered to IOSH by the Press Association". http://www.iosh.co.uk/news/industry_news2.aspx What is more important is the arrangement IOSH has for vetting the industry news from the Press Association before they are published on the IOSH webpages. There does not seem to be a robust process for this.

After all of the rhetoric on here, about how H&S professionals and their professional body save the world, this seems, methinks, a little like the tail wagging the dog. Maybe the message is that we should from now forth go to the Press Association for news and information, guidance and advice? But do go easy on those you feel are 'responsible'. Are they trained in aspects of H&S, or are they experienced instead in administration and PR etc? Both disciplines are important, but the interface is neither easy nor clear cut and through genuine misunderstanding errors do occur. I have been involved in this with one of the Royal Colleges and its very sad for those who are doing their best but find themselves facing a barrage of complaints and criticism.

True, but a competent person should be aware of their limitations Anyway I've now had an e-mail from a real person at IOSH and have pointed them towards this thread
