Out of curiosity can we define the following:- 1. Risk 2. Hazard 3. Severity 4. Likelihood

At the risk of getting shot down in flames I suggest that much of the confusion with these concepts emanate from different words or phrases which mean the same thing. Whilst risk and hazard is arguably clear, except where we are talking adjectives which can be used interchangeably eg risky or hazardous. Such is the wonder of the English language. 1. Severity - outcome, consequence, event, result, etc. 2. Likelihood - probability

I'll fire the first shot then Ray ;-) Your wrong with 1. but correct with 2. If you put the words 'extent of unwanted...' in front of your others then that might work.
