Yes, is a short answer to your question, Jez. Like many measurement tools, it can be a productive way of providing feedback systematically about a variety of questions often mired in bias and subjectivity. And like measurement tools, a sociogram has to be designed with respect for its level of reliability and validity as you interpret the resulting data. The DCOVA method of statistical enquiry appears to be a very good way to avoid pitfalls with social measurement at work.

Warnings sometimes do as well, Zimmy While it's over a century since Jacob Moreno ingeniously invented the sociogram, he and his disciples didn't have to manage the risks arising with computers and social media. While he used it in psychosocial and therapeutic settings, he was also very careful to signal the disadvantages as well as the advantages of the sociogram and the other methods he created.

Hi all, the sociogram is useful if you know how to read it, otherwise it can be a bit frustrating. I use a browser based software called LinkNotions for my sociograms and it allows me to visualize my group very easily. Maybe try it out and see if can help your problem. Heres the link to thier website (www.linknotions.com) and they already have one with explanations so it shouldn't take you too long to get started. Cheers and good luck
