Train the Traininer - Fire Warden training course

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has any experience of completing the above course?
With tightening budgets I am being asked to cut training costs and look at completing more of our training inhouse.
I have completed the NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management course and have a NEBOSH Dip, but I'm not sure if I have the necessary 'fire' experience - what do others think?

All depends on work environment.
Lower risk environments (such as offices, etc.) could possibly be covered by an online training course. The licence for the management suite on these varies, and user licences can often be purchased in batches in advance (often from as little as £3 per licence).
Higher risk environments would probably still benefit from a full theory/ practical course. Not carried out TtT on FW courses, so it is difficult to comment on course syllabus to see whether the accreditation you have would be sufficient.

Are you proposing to train someone to train another member of staff or, are you being asked to carry out the training your-self?

I've written a couple of bespoke fire warden training courses...to be honest in terms of content, and what you want YOUR fire wardens to do (policy varies from company to company), anything designed and delivered by you is likely to be more appropriate for your company's needs than anything off the shelf delivered by a professional trainer from outside.
I'd say, with the addition of "knowledge of the workplace" (which I'm assuming you have!) you've got more than enough fire safety knowledge to train fire wardens - you don't mention what training skills / experience you have so that's worth thinking about as well.

I agree with Paul Duell on this. If you wish to gain a better understanding of delivering training then PTLLS Level 3 is essential but not a legal requirement. This course will help you structure your course, think about delivery and help you with time management and organisation.
