I'm looking for a training course to demonstrate competence so we can inspect and re-certify lifting tackle and accessories only in-house. Getting lots of conflicting advice from trainers with courses ranging from 1-3 days. We don't have capacity to load test (and dont want to) but didnt think this was a requirement as long as the inspection showed no signs of excessive wear or damage/stretching of links etc. Anything like this we would pull this accessory from use and send off to be repaired and re-certified. Costs to send away each item every 6 months is roughly £50 a time, so having 20-25 accessories is costing us between £1500-£2000 a year on equipment which does not require any repairs but needs certified.
Any thoughts???

I do our in house inspections with the exception of motors and chain hoists. There is a company based in Birmingham Total Solutions, they build truss and their trainer Chris Higgs wrote the book for rigging in the entaintment industry.
The course is a one day course depending on previous qualifications. Our course was a two day course as we included harness inpections as well.
