Is it true this is to be disbanded does anybody have any light to shed on this. I know it wouldn’t mean all our certificates would be invalid but it’s just nice to know what is going as this is still a very new qualification. Many thanks

I'm confused! I quick google suggests there are still lots of organisations offering this course C&G website publicises it So........... is it going or is it just competing with some new setup? googling TAP suggests to me a commercial setup.

Not arguing, I'm sure you have good info. But does that mean C&G are withdrawing it? Does it just (I'm not interested in working for them) mean FE colleges will not recognise it? I hold PTLLS and offer it as part evidence of my abilities as a trainer, so I don't want to find its rubbished as being of no value.

When I first saw this thread I had no idea what the initials PTTILLS meant. To save others from spending time and effort searching the internet, PTTILLS (alias the less cumbersome initials PTLLS) stand for 'Preparing To Teach in The Life Long Learning Sector'. It comprises an introductory course and qualification for people without prior teaching experience and/or qualifications who intend to teach and train adults in the UK. More details available from the City & Guilds website at http://www.cityandguilds...ng-learning-sector-ptlls Numerous colleges and organisations offer the course in various parts of the UK and there's no ready indication that it's due to be abolished.

There is indication it is to be abolished. That said, PTLLS will still be acceptable qualification for training. I have no intention of going to pay someone else £650.00 for a 2 day conversation course
