I have been asked if safety steps are aceptable for working at height. However, I cannot find a clear guidance on what is the difference between safety steps and a working access platform. I can see looking at them that there is a difference but is there information out there that can help me determine what the differences are between them.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'safety steps' but the main thing to look for on whatever step or platform people will be working off is how much guard railing there is around it (2 sides? 3 sides? 4 sides?)

Thanks for the reply. When I look through the catalogues there are a variety of "safety steps" which seem to be designed for getting things off or placing items on shelves such as in a warehouse. At the same time I also see work access platforms which look the same but bigger. I have a requirement for a platform which can be used to work at height and I have been asked if "safety steps" were acceptable. I have tried to find an explanation of hat is the main differnce between the two types and whether safety steps can be used to work at height but I can't find any information.
