Hi, Can anyone give me just a brief overview of storage requirements for oxygen cylinders close to other fuel cylinders. Question I have are:- 1. Is the minimum distance between oxygen cylinders and other fuel cylinders (not LPG) 3 metres? 2. Is the distance between LPG and oxygen cylinders 6 metres? 3. This one may seem really obvious but I'm trying to convince someone of the fact that propane bottles is actually LPG and so should have a separation distance of 6 metres. I know there is guidance via document below but it's £55! Guidance for the Storage of Gas Cylinders in the Workplace. Revision 5: 2012 Thanks for any help.

Try your suppliers for advice - they should know the standards off by heart

I think you will find what you need in the free HSE booklet http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/priced/hsg139.pdf I think propane is LPG.

HSG 139 states: The LPGA publications recommend that oxygen cylinders should not be stored within 3 m of an LPG storage area unless separated by a structure of 30 minutes fire-resisting construction. According to Wikipedia, propane is an LPG and LPG as supplied can be mainly propane. LB

Calor Gas have created a guide that contains pretty much most of the information you need: http://www.calor.co.uk/d...storage-of-cylinders.pdf And yes Propane is LPG (come'on guys!) as is butane etc.
