Folks I am looking to get a sign made that i can install to the entrance of our garage/maintenance facility for HGV vehicles. I am looking a sign that gives you a list of dos and donts. Has anybody done a similar sign and would be prepared to share what type of things they have put on. If not could you give me a few examples of dos and donts. please thanks Eddie eddie@bpmckeefry.com

Hi Eddie. My thoughts on signs are that they will not be read or complied with if more than a handful of words appear, particularly if the person expected to read them is driving (or not able to read!) and not familiar with the route. If they are a regular to the site they will be blasé about notices anyway. One to one instruction on arrival may be a better approach.

Hi Eddie, Not knowing too much about your geographic lay out, just an idea, have you considered a reception bay for the vehicles to park up. They could be met and briefed by one of you operatives as to what your site arrangements are from the safety of his / her cab. You could even get them to sign to say they have read / understood. This could be produced to demonstrate that you do brief / induct drivers to your site. Regards Alex

These are very common and on use at pretty much any distribution site, factory, construction site etc I have every seen! Do a Google such for: site entrance safety signs Should give you some good examples!
