Can anyione confirm if the 5 day Managing H&S Course needs to be refreshed every 3 years - I am getting mixed messages - some say it doesn't require to be refreshed any longer? Thanks

Hi Cathy I had the same question a couple of years ago (assuming you're talking about the IOSH Managing Safely course?). here's what I came up with: 1. The qualification does not expire 2. IOSH provide a 2-day refresher course which may be taken by candidates who have achieved their qualification or a previous refresher within the last 3 years. This is optional, not compulsory - there is no requirement to "maintain" your qualification by repeated training. 3. Some course providers place an expiry date on the certificates (3 years coincidentally!). This is NOT mandated by IOSH, who (as in 1 above) state that the qualification does not expire. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, anyone please. We use the 2-day refresher for our operational managers, it's a good way to get them thinking about H&S away from the coal face for a couple of days. We have an excellent provider, so the main benefit is spending 2 days with him. Good luck

Cathy just to confirm what gramsay has said, I deliver the IOSH Managing Safely and there is no expiry date. I have seen some providers publish an expiry date on the certificate but we do not. regards
