Hello there
Has anyone out there been through an Achilles audit visit? And how does it work, what do they do? Any comments or advice gratefully received

The last one we had, the chap could not get out of the door fast enough!
Useless tick box excercise IMHO
They should send you a protocol before hand

Assisted various clients go through both the initial & renewal process on five occasions in the last two years & similar to walkers posting, the last guy was intent on leaving at a particular time, audit finished or not & again a totally useless tick box exercise - IMHO. Unfortunately the process was client driven..... if 'you' haven't got the badge you can't work for us. As if to confirm my thoughts, on two renewals the clients haven't done anything with their H&S SMS until they get a call for the audit - then they take the folder out the desk drawer, dust it down & start ticking boxes........ Nice earner for Achilles though

Ours was client driven too.
I was tempted to complain to the client but thought "what the hell" why make life more difficult.

Agree with above comments. Absolute waste of time. It is linked with the tendering process in my industry and if you don't have the registration then you are not eligible to bid for the work. Achilles claim that it streamlines the tendering process but the client still sends the questionnaires to be completed with exactly the same information.
I remember having a conversation with one of their staff asking what the benefit to my organization would be as we are already audited to death by clients, certification bodies etc and wasn't given a straight answer. All they could say was that their audits go into more depth. They have got too big for their boots and keep adding extra requirements every time they come to audit.
If only there was a way to make them go away!!!
