Hi

I am looking at starting the NVQ 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety but there are so many course providers that I am unsure which one to go with. Are all the course providers offer the same or is there a course provider that stands out from the rest?

Cheers

Les,

I work for an NVQ Provider, and we are not all the same. The rules of the Forum state that I as a provider can not quote my organisations name.

We all offer different levels of support, for different amounts of time. I would strongly recommend you look at the small print checking out, what guidance you will get, what is the length of support, do you have to pay for assessments of units.

Good luck

Hello,
There are many like you say, look for personal preference of what you need ie Work observations, support, as carrying out an NVQ remotely via e mail/ website can be pretty daunting and extremely hard to motivate yourself. Therefore ask what support is included, you can also take a look at the OCR website for information on the units. From the information you can identify which units will be your biggest challenge and ask what help you will get with those. The company you choose is the not the only most important factor in my opinion, your assessor is the one who will get you through - so maybe ask to speak with your potential assessor too.
I hope this helps and good luck, it is so worth doing.

Hi

A search on this forum gives you a few companies that are recommended. Email them and ask an assessor to call you, decide from there. As mentioned earlier, its the assessor that pushes you to do the work and feedback to you, so working with someone you like/respect will be motivational.

Regards

Linda
