Does anyone have any additional tips on building a business case for accreditation to 18001? I currently look after the company accreditations to ISO9001, ISO13485 and ISO17025 and want to add OHSAS 18001 to this. I inherited ISO9001 and ISO17025 from the previous QM but was responsible for the deployment and implementation of ISO 13485 so have no problem with the actual process. My arguments for would be: External verification/Certification Shows company commitment to H&S both internally and to customers (e.g. when completing tenders etc) Continual improvement is required under 18001 so helps “push things forward” Reduced insurance premiums. Can integrate with the other systems relatively simply. The against argument (working for a SME) is always how much is it going to cost and how much work will it create. Any comments appreciated. Brian, have a look at this thread: http://forum.iosh.co.uk/...spx?g=posts&t=109739 In particular the comments made by 'Jay' and the links in his thread...the .pdf document he links to is very good. Might help you?
