Hi all, Just had some major remedial works done to the fire stopping in a 4 storey office block and I'm looking for an external independant specialist to examine the works to ensure they have been done properly and in all of the right places. I have faith in the contractors we used but I've been asked to get third party confirmation that the issue has been resolved. Any ideas would be greatfully recieved (pm me).

Well done Smurf for getting that work done, don't know whose idea it was but lots of premises that have had refurb/repair/small job type work done need this type of survey and upgrading. Can't help with your request but once again well done.

Any decent chartered building surveyor will be able to do this for you - it is not a specialist fire person you really need. We all have preferences but I always have used a guy called steve crowther - pm me if you want contact details. Bob

Perhaps your local Council's building control would be interested- and could do with the work too.
