Morning all, In my Company we pick into, and transport, all our goods in roll cages. I'm talking the six foot variety on wheels that has hinged doors on both sides. The wearing of gloves is mandatory to prevent lacerations and punctures to hands, but we still seem to get minor cuts and scrapes to upper arms, legs and heads. I'd like to run a Cage Awareness programme and try to inject some humour at the same time. I'm thinking of perhaps putting a roll cage in the communication area and attaching some fake teeth and a sign saying "I bite - be careful where you touch me" or something like that. Does anyone have any suggestions or materials i could use? Thanks, Sarah

I chaired the Insitute of logistics safety forum years ago and there was some material speciifically on roll cage safety (DVD) and other items that may be of use.

I used to hate picking onto those things (although they did make good skate boards when picking on the top floor!) If its the same one's I used to use in my youth, they also had wooden shelves!? (splinters!) The main point if you could highlight it someway, is damage being left and not reported (normally when short on cages) bent doors that you have to kick the bottom of to get in and exposed metal sections! Maybe some large arrows or hazard symbols stuck on problem areas!?
