Can anyone tell me where I will find specific legislation on the use of an e-stop with a shroud cover? Different opinions from our electrical team on whether these should/should not be used to prevent accidental activation and I need a definitive answer. Thanks

You'll not find the legislative piece your after, however, depends on what your definition/interpretation of shroud is. It is common place to see e-stops of the red mushroom head type in the post above with raised metal pieces close by on either side to prevent inadvertant operation yet still be easily 'slapped' in an emergency. Difficult to describe exactly what I mean but it would look something like this - [ 0 ] if the brackets were stood up like goal posts. Usually found along areas of high traffic like packing stations/conveyor belts in manufacturing environments
