Dear All, It is query related to installation of fire / smoke detectors at cold stores. It is been advised for VESDA (aspirating type detection system). However it is expensive to implement. It is also been advised for rate of rise detection system perhaps cold atmosphere could harm electronic gadgets used in it. Please could you advise on any alternative cost effective system. Best regards

Maybe the composite panels are old and of the highly flammable type? Light fittings and other electrical equipment and flts, could be potential sources of ignition. Stu

Just because somewhere is cold does not mean you cannot have a fire http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/1715922.stm Not a good place to have a fire!
