I have been made redundant ha ha I use that term loosely , it was a classic case of last in first out. No package due to being there only 9 months. I have been a H&S manager/ Advisor for the past 6 years. What's the best way to approach this in terms of looking for work as I have not been in this situation before. Sent off loads of applications already but the usual no feed back scenario with them all.
Any advise would be great
Thank you Rich

Hi Rich, sorry to hear about your situation. Someone with your experiance should be easily snapped up. May want to review your C.V, how much does it apply to your experiance in H&S? are you selling yourself enough? are you able to put down any big projects you've been involved with up to so many thousands/millions of pounds etc, CDM-C experiance is always a good start, how many pages does it consist of? Have you looked for jobs on SHP, HSE and all the othwer usual places? Sure you have Rich.
Keep at it, something will turn up, Good Luck, and let us know!
Liz

Sorry to hear your bad news.
What industry do you have experience in and what qualifications do you have ? We may be able to help you more if we know this info.

Thanks Liz, I'm currently working on improving my CV and applied for jobs on most of those you suggest. I also have some CDM experience on a large project so I suppose I should put that in the CV which I admit never crossed my mind. I will keep plugging along and see what comes up.
Thanks again. Rich

Chris
I have experience in the utilities sector but mainly telecommunications sector, however I am trying to get something away from the telecoms side of things. I would never say never obviously but looking for a new challenge. I am qualified to Diploma Level having just completed NVQ level 5 the week before I finished. At least I got something out of them.
Thanks Richard

Thankfully I have managed to secure a first interview on an application I sent last week. Its not all over but it is a start and at least my CV as been looked at. Fingers crossed I get to the second one.

Work as a consultant until you get a job or if it works, full time? Register with every agency including the job centre online, and as others have said, make sure your Cv is so sharp it could have your eye out! also, a quality covereing letter is helpful.
