I have just downloaded the latest version of the above document which was issued under the guise of the 4th edition in May 2013. Sadly I have noticed mistakes which are glaringly obvious to those of us that work in the utility (arboriculture / vegetation management) sector. On page 2 the picture is of a 400kv line but states it is a 275kv line, and page 3 states it is a 400v line and it is a 1kv (1000v) line. Furthermore there is no mention of 66kv power lines anywhere in the document. I have contacted the HSE and suggested that they take a look at the document urgently, I await their response with interest. My point to my learned colleagues here is...have you noticed any errors in HSE documents previously, if so what? If HSE are intending on dispelling myths, they should provide accurate information to the masses as an untrained tree cutter may think that 400v will not do much harm, whereas in reality 1000v will definitely give him a nasty shock (no pun intended).

Mistakes, poor choice of wording, printing errors - there are a few. For me, one of the most woeful pieces of text was that within L21 associated with new and expectant mother guidance. Perhaps the only good thing about L21 being withdrawn.
