In our factory, we have two profile burning machines which we use for cutting carbon steel profiles. One machine is relatively modern and has been installed with LEV, however the older machine does not have any extraction fitted. Do any members know if there is a legal requirement to fit LEV retrospectively to older machines?

The requirement to fit LEV (if there is one) arises only from your COSHH assessment and not from any specific statutory requirement to retrofit.

Thanks for your response. I think there is going to be quite a bit of research to do prior to the assessment being prepared.
