We hire out a dance studio to a self-employed dance school owner/teacher.
For the purposes of RIDDOR who is considered to be "in control of the premises" during the dance class?
If a dance student fell down the stairs because of a problem with the facilities, and was carted off to hospital, I would class them as our visitor, and report.
If an accident requiring hospital treatment happens during the class, nothing to do with the condition of our premises, it doesn't feel like "our" accident. The "work" that the accident is related to is the running of the dance school.

I would agree with your analysis. Also the dance teacher is likely to tell you if the accident was due to the state of your premises but not if the cause was a fall during a tricky dance move.
